Fourth of July Parade

“What started out as a small neighborhood parade—primarily for pets—has grown into one of Greenville’s biggest patriotic events of the year,” says the Park Street Historical Association, organizers of the annual Park Street Fourth of July Parade. Held every year on July 4th, the parade aims to honor our nation, express gratitude to our veterans, and celebrate the cherished freedom we enjoy.

The parade has evolved to encompass a delightful array of participants, including kids on bicycles, fire trucks, color guards, law enforcement representatives, a spirited marching band, antique cars, and, of course, plenty of majestic horses. With each passing year, the event grows in scale and excitement, drawing residents and visitors from far and wide.

Emphasizing its small-town charm and community-centered nature, the Park Street Historical Association welcomes local scouting groups, churches, and non-profit organizations to join the parade free of charge. However, a small fee is applicable for those engaging in commercial or political advertising, ensuring that the parade remains focused on celebrating the community rather than commercial interests.

This beloved event has become a staple in Greenville, offering a platform for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and revel in the spirit of patriotism and unity. It serves as a testament to the town’s vibrant community spirit and unwavering dedication to preserving its history.

So mark your calendars, grab your lawn chairs, and join us on July 4th as we line the streets of Greenville to witness the magic of the Park Street Fourth of July Parade. Let’s celebrate our nation’s independence, honor our veterans, and create cherished memories that will resonate for years to come!
